Atelier Louis-Charles Lasnier turned its attention to designing a directional signage system. By overlapping a map of the key decision points in the path of travel with a map of places where it would be ideal for visitors to take a rest and enjoy the surroundings, Atelier Louis-Charles Lasnier was able to design a series of six long benches integrating the primary directional signage. With its unconventional display height, the designers had to carefully test the materiality, flow of visitors and lighting conditions in order to insure optimum impact and clarity. A series of prototypes confirmed the effectiveness of the approach. Going against the grain of conventional rules governing signage, the system resolves a complex series of issues, working perfectly to both direct users and celebrate the space that it inhabits.
